"Tibet Autonomous Region Atlas" as the first atlas complied by Tibet is based on the existing geographic data, combines with the latest research results in geology, geophysics, geomorphology, climate, hydrology, soil, biology and environmental science and makes use of GIS high-tech mapping techniques.
Wang Weila, director of TAR Surveying & Mapping Bureau said:"The real basic situation of geography, environment and socio-economic development will be shown by the TAR Atlas."
Besides, only 6,000 pieces of "Tibet Autonomous Region Atlas" will be published for the first time and is expected to be sold next October.
