Map World Forum Abstract Submission Deadline Extended

Owing to the tremendous response we received towards paper abstracts submission, GIS Development, the organizers of Map World Forum, the Global Geospatial Conference, are pleased to announce the extension of Paper Abstract Submission deadline to September 15, 2008. The conference is scheduled for February 10 – 13, 2009 at Hyderabad International Convention Centre, India.

Paper abstracts are invited for all technical sessions, seminars, forums and symposiums. Paper abstracts can be submitted online at the conference site www.mapworldforum.org.

The theme of the conference this year is ‘Geospatial Technology for Sustainable Planet Earth’.

This year’s Map World Forum will include high-profile keynote remarks, guest lectures and plenary speeches addressing important issues and challenges facing the globe. The Technical programme of the Forum will include 9 sub themes for Plenary Addresses, 4 Vertical Theme Based Symposia, 6 Seminars, 4 Forums, a Summit on Navigation and Positioning technology, 15 Technical Sessions, Panel Discussions, Technology Shows, User Meets, Social Programmes and an 1800 sq mtr plus area of Exhibition space.

The sub themes for Plenary Addresses have been chosen to cover a wide range of issues. One set of themes cover issues like Climate Change, Forest & Environment, which reflect the natural environment that is bearing the brunt of modern day lifestyle. The other set of Plenary themes will focus on sectors like Transport, Oil & Gas, Mining, Energy etc. that need to be in sync with the needs of the environment while contributing simultaneously to economic growth of nations.

The conference will also host 4 Vertical Theme Based Symposia on different aspects of Geospatial Technology and its applications - Governance, Social Infrastructure, Petroleum & Mining and Design & Engineering. There will be two-day Symposium on Location Technologies known as Location Summit and 3 Forums on Geospatial Science, Education and Developers.
