Free GIS user groups for UK Housing Associations

Dotted Eyes knows that Housing Association staff can achieve an unparalleled understanding of their organisation by combining their data with digital maps: visualising trends, such as increases in void properties; mapping information pertaining to residents, such as age, income and access to facilities; and even supporting stock acquisition and disposal planning.

One of Dotted Eyes' goals for 2008 is to help more housing associations reap the benefits of this so-called location intelligence. One of the ways the company plans to do this is by hosting free user groups, allowing members to meet and start sharing ideas and best practice.

Anyone working for a housing association who wants to explore how to use GIS (Geographical Information Systems) to save time and money will be welcomed at one of the following free user groups:

Southern User Group: March 19th, Ordnance Survey head office, Southampton (10am - 3pm)
Midlands and Northern User Group: April 9th, Dotted Eyes office, near Birmingham (10am - 3pm)

Presentations will be given by Dotted Eyes, Ordnance Survey and by ‘real-life’ users such as Midland Heart, one of the top ten housing and regeneration businesses in the UK. Equally valuable to user group members will be the chance to informally network and swop ideas/experiences.

Anyone wishing to attend should register online at www.locationintelligence.co.uk/housing.

Anyone who cannot attend a user group, but would like to receive Dotted Eyes' 2008 Guide to Location Intelligence for Housing, can request a copy at www.locationintelligence.co.uk/housing.
