Civil Engineering and GIS department of Beuth University of Berlin picks MAPublisher and Geographic Imager

Avenza Systems Inc., producers of MAPublisher cartographic software for Adobe Illustrator and Geographic Imager spatial tools for Adobe Photoshop, is pleased to announce that the Civil Engineering and Geoinformation department at Beuth University of Berlin (Beuth Hochschule für Technik Berlin), formerly Technische Fachhochschule in Berlin Germany has deployed multiple licenses of both MAPublisher and Geographic software for use in their cartography and GIS labs.

"We are using both programs (MAPublisher & Geographic Imager) in the Bachelor degree courses for Cartography and Geomedia and in the Master degree course Acquisition and Visualization of Geodata. Both programs provide very valuable functions within the intersecting area of GIS, remote sensing and cartography", said Dr. Ursula Ripke of the university’s cartographic laboratory. "We have found that both programs are essential for our work especially for satellite image based cartography", she added.

Avenza’s products will be primarily used in the software lab by staff and students towards their degrees as well as in faculty-student collaborative research projects. All users will be able to take advantage of the graphics capabilities of MAPublisher, Geographic Imager and Adobe Creative Suite to produce high-quality maps and work with spatial imagery.
