NEXTMap Malaysia: High-resolution 3D digital elevation data

Intermap Technologies has entered into a new agreement with the Sarawak Lands and Surveys Department in East Malaysia. The program, called NEXTMap Malaysia - Sarawak, will make available high-resolution 3D digital elevation data and imagery covering the entire State of Sarawak.

Sarawak, located on the Island of Borneo encompasses one of the worlds few remaining rain forests, boasting wild elephants, orangutans, and other endangered species. Available now, the high-resolution data will be used to enable the State of Sarawak to manage environmentally sensitive areas using Intermap’s highly accurate imagery and elevation data. Expected uses are geospatial applications within the environment, hydrology, forestry, plantation, and mining sectors.

Included in the precision datasets are digital surface models depicting the earth’s surface including cultural features such as vegetation, buildings, and roads), digital terrain models displaying the bare earth (with all cultural features digitally removed), and orthorectified radar images (grayscale images that accentuate topographic features).
