Aerodata International Surveys (Antwerp, Belgium received their first Vexcel UltraCam- X prime (UCXp) full frame digital sensor system.
This unit, which is Vexcel's first UCXp to the market, also happens to be the 100th UltraCam ever made by Vexcel and this milestone is highlighted by a special commemoration plate on the camera (see picture with Willem Philipse, President and co-owner of Aerodata)
The purchase agreement for 2 systems was ceremoniously signed during the ISPRS 2008 conference in Beijing last July.
After installation of an Applanix POS/AV 510 GPS/IMU orientation system, the 196 megapixel camera will be mounted in a Somag GSM3000 gyro-stabilized mount, in one of Aerodata's four aerial survey aircraft.
It is anticipated that from 1 September onward the new system will be fully operational for aerial survey missions all over Europe, Africa and Middle East
The significant increase in efficiency over the UltraCam-D, will positively impact customer economics and greatly reduce CO outputs during survey missions.
The full integration of Vexcel cameras and the Aerodata Pixel Pipeline (NAS clustered storage and processing array, nearly 200TB of space and distributed processing over tens of cores) makes for a winning concept of speed and economy, which benefits both the customer and Aerodata.
