ERDAS Expands Belgium Office

ERDAS announces the opening of a new office in Liège, Belgium. Effective May 27, 2008, ERDAS has moved from its Grâce-Hollogne, Belgium office to a new, larger location in Liège. Supporting ERDAS’ growth in Europe, the Liège office includes state-of-the art training and meeting facilities, in a convenient and central location for customers and business partners.

ERDAS develops the most advanced geospatial technology and delivers reliable customer service and support worldwide. ERDAS’ product portfolio encompasses the entire geospatial information lifecycle of authoring, managing, connecting and delivering integrated business data.
Prior to becoming ERDAS, Inc., the company was known as Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging. In 2007, Leica Geosystems acquired IONIC, which was headquartered in Liège. As ERDAS, the combined company has a greater presence in Belgium. Employing over 30 staff, the Liège office includes research and development, product management, sales, services and support for Europe and Community of Independent States (ECIS).

“The new Liège office provides an ideal infrastructure for product development and management activities, enabling us to better facilitate relationships with customers and users all over Europe,” said Bob Morris, President & CEO, ERDAS. “Our Liège office is easily accessible from all points in Western Europe.”

“Our staff in Europe and the CIS are excited to use the new corporate facilities to meet with colleagues in a convenient, central place,” said Thomas Bayer, Vice President, ECIS Region, ERDAS. “Intense sales and services activities involve traveling a lot to meet customers and partners. To cultivate team spirit and collaboration with mobile colleagues, we value the quality of an open and friendly work environment. This is a key element of ERDAS’ success as a new, unified company.”
