Navionics, the leader in electronic cartography and navigation data supply, introduces a new revolutionary product, Navionics Mobile, the cartography specifically designed to fully exploit the capabilities of today’s smartphones. Available from December, Navionics Mobile turns your iPhone into a marine chartplotter, allowing you to view detailed charts with your GPS position, pan and zoom, query chart objects, and much more. New Navionics Mobile also contains outdoor and ski trail data, enabling navigation with your iPhone while skiing, hiking and biking.
Navionics Mobile will soon be available for more smart phone models beyond the iPhone. For those boaters who already have a chartplotter, Navionics Mobile can help to improve your navigation safety; in case of an electrical blackout, the iPhone acts as a supplementary navigator. It can also be used for the tender, or simply to consult the charts while at home or on land without the need to be in front of your plotter onboard.
Navionics Mobile is a new tool that allows for a different and more immediate use for personal navigation by means of the smartphone, that we all carry with us at all times.
