ERDAS Announces IWS Integration with AutoDesk’s MapGuide Enterprise 2008 Platform

ERDAS announces an enhancement to AutoDesk’s MapGuide Enterprise 2008 Platform that provides seamless integration with ERDAS Image Web Server (IWS).

Recently released, Autodesk MapGuide Enterprise offers support for consuming and publishing raster and vector data using Web Mapping Services (WMS) and Web Feature Services (WFS). This enhancement enables MapGuide users to quickly and easily consume WMS feeds from IWS. An updated Feature Data Object (FDO) library enables imagery to be served from IWS. MapGuide Enterprise makes the WMS request to IWS and publishes the returned image.

The MapGuide Enterprise 2008 Platform is a framework for developing web-based maps. IWS is a high-speed, specialized server application that efficiently distributes large volumes of geospatial image data. IWS solves the infrastructure congestion problems associated with deploying large amounts of image data, empowering users to quickly access the information they need.

“We are excited that AutoDesk users may now consume and publish their WMS from IWS in the MapGuide Enterprise environment,” said Mladen Stojic, Senior Vice President, Product Management and Marketing, ERDAS. “With enhanced performance and added functionality, IWS provides quick delivery over the Internet or intranet, and consumption in desktop, mobile, server or web applications.”
